This year Christian Aid Week, the annual door-to-door fundraising drive by the charity Christian Aid is from 12-18 May and is to raise money to support people living in poverty worldwide. Start of Rosedale Abbey Wedding Dress Festival
The festival kicks off with a preview evening at Rosedale Church on Friday, May 24 at 6pm with entertainment from the Northern Ryedale Singers. Free entry - all donations to Save Rosedale Church. Up to 30 Rosedale residents are exhibiting their wedding dresses to save the church from closure. There will also be pictures of weddings from the Rosedale History Society archive and flower displays by Pickering Flower Club. Festival runs Saturday May 25 to Sunday June from 10am to 5pm daily at St Mary and St Lawrence Church, Rosedale Abbey.
