Cleaner Energy Solutions
October 2011

Over a year ago, after being involved in many renewable technology projects in York and Ripon, Graham Wicking and Steven Waring noticed that Whitby and the surrounding areas were poorly served in the green technology sector.

They decided to pool together their combined 50 years experience in the heating trade, and move in a new direction, which is why they formed Cleaner Energy Solutions. They have been carefully researching the market, choosing what they consider to be the best products in the renewable sector. They have also undertaken comprehensive training, to qualify for the MCS (microgeneration certification scheme), and installer qualifications, in what they believe to be the most viable technologies.

They have recently completed several local contracts e.g. heat pumps to serve space heating and hot water demands at a new build project in Lythe and a combined technology project in Grosmont, amongst others.

Just some of the services they provide are:
Solar pv. Creating electricity out of sunlight from panels on your roof. This has the added bonus of a guaranteed income for 25 years through the generous feed-in tariff scheme.
Solar thermal. Similar to the pv system in that it uses panels to capture sunlight, but these are used to provide hot water.
Heat pumps. Whether it be air source or ground source, these units use natural energy stored in the atmosphere/ground and utilise it to provide heat and hot water for your home.
Heat recovery. Usually extractor fans blow all your heated air straight outside. These units ‘extract’ the heat first, then use that energy to warm up fresh air that is blown back into your property.

These are simplified explanations of how some of the systems operate. If you are interested, CES can arrange to visit your property in order to fully explain and design a tailor made solution to suit your specific property. They are not tied to one technology and one manufacturer, so they have the freedom and flexibility to offer you the best product and service for your individual needs.
CES will assist you throughout the whole process, from design to project completion. They will also give assistance and advice regarding the Government incentives, such as the feed-in tariff, and the long awaited renewable heat incentive scheme.

Details of these schemes can be found at www.energysavingtrust.org.uk, freephone number 0800 512012, also at The Department for Energy & Climate Change at www.decc.gov.uk.

Graham and Steven are MCS registered and part of the Real Assurance Scheme, which gives you the peace of mind that only competent installers, who are fully trained in renewable technologies will be involved in your project.
